Steve The Shark

Gold Coast, Australia

Steve the shark is a giant recycle sculpture build from pallets and scrapwood from a torn down wooden shed. It is part of a three sculpture piece Thomas Dambo made at a large market in Gold Coast, Australia. The shark was made so that people can interact with it and hang out inside it’s mouth.

It was named Steve after a guy who worked at the market and helped Thomas and his team in building the shark along with the other two sculptures. Despite being close to the age of retirement, Steve is a strong hardworking guy, who made a huge contribution to the team, so Thomas found it fitting to name the strong shark after him.

The giant pallet shark is almost 11 meters long and the gab in its mouth is 3.5 meters tall.
