Snorra of Suwannee

Suwannee, Florida, 2015

Snorra of Suwannee is a giant recycle monster, which Thomas Dambo made for the festival Suwannee Halluween in Florida. The festival wanted something awesome and scary looking that the festival guests could interact with.

Since the sculpture would have to be placed around a big lake, Thomas and his assistant thought that it would be cool to make it look like it was crawling up from the lake, ready to eat some festival guests. The sculpture was made solely using scrapwood, mainly broken pallets from a nearby furniture factory.

Snorra who is named after Thomas’ assistants girlfriend, was supposed to be taken down after the festival, but the festival loved her so much, that they allowed her to stay.
