Runes Tree

Suwannee, Florida, 2016

Thomas Dambo made this giant recycle sculpture for the Suwannee Hulaween festival in 2016. The giant troll-like creature, stabbed in the heart by a tree, is made from local scrapwood, mainly old pallets. It is named after Thomas’ old friend Rune, who helped build the sculpture. During the festival, many visitors hung out on the sculpture, which was kept by the park after the festival.

Runes Tree is the second sculpture made by the Thomas Dambo team at Suwannee, and visitors of the park can still experience Snorra of Suwannee another great creature made from scrap wood.
