The Nordic Swan is a giant recycle sculpture made from more than 300 plastic buckets. Thomas Dambo made the swan for the Nordic Council in Copenhagen, for culture night in 2015.

Nordic Council of Ministers wanted something spectalular at their entrance to support the theme of the night, sustainability. Thomas Dambo arranged with the councils cantina to deliver all of their used white plastic buckets from e.g. mayonaise to Thomas and his team. From the buckets and a scrapwood structure, the Nordic Swan was made. Talk about an ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan.
